The Cot Piece | 2013

The Cot Piece was developed to investigate the concept of "around sound". On the floor in a darkened gallery bathed in blue light lays an old army cot with a stadium loud speaker suspended in space above it. While the viewer lies down and closes their eyes, the speaker is spun around their head creating "around sound”. Each listener is played a different score produced in real time by the artist who is sitting at a sampler in the gallery operating the Cot Piece for individual listening experiences.
